My wife’s best friend hosts a regular New Years party plus a “kids’ New Years” at 7pm EST, which is midnight GMT.

I’m from the UK and live in the US, would happily celebrate NY on UK time, but then our friends wanted to do a virtual game night STARTING at 9pm! I was exhausted NYD, and with a toddler who was up at 6am and didn’t want to nap.

We popped open the champagne at 10pm. I passed out and I woke up at 12:30 with the baby crying

I’m all about the Noon Year’s Eve celebrations now. I can’t be bothered to stay up past my bedtime. No thanks, I get little enough sleep as it is.
