Nursing and feeding your baby ’round the clock.⁣⁣⁣
Hair is unwashed. Dishes piled high.⁣⁣
Exhaustion is so deep that your breathing comes slowly as you sit as if you had learned to sleep with your eyes open.⁣⁣

I see you over there.⁣⁣
Trying your best.⁣⁣
Only allowing a tear or two to escape.⁣⁣
“Why is it so hard?” You ask no one in particular.⁣⁣⁣

⁣⁣Your baby gazes up at you.⁣⁣
Your question hangs there.⁣⁣
You gaze back, realization washing over you.⁣⁣⁣”

⁣⁣It’s so hard because you are giving it your all, every moment of every day that this little human came into your life. You keep digging deep, finding the strength to go on.
Surviving on a deep breath here and a shower there.⁣⁣

Take care of yourself, mamas. This mother thing is hard work. It’s constant. Offer yourself compassion and gentleness, and make yourself a priority as well. It’ll make a difference!
