The uterus is one amazing organ! 🤩
It expands from being around the size of your fist to the size of a watermelon once you are 40 weeks. That’s about 500 times its original size! Can you think of any other organ that can do that? 👊 🍉
Be patient with your body during the postpartum period. Your uterus just grew and nourished a new human being. Typically it takes about 6 weeks for your uterus to go back to its regular size, so don’t expect to “bounce back”. 🤰
Also, right after birth, your uterus has a big wound inside where the placenta was attached. That’s why it needs to stay contracted to prevent excessive bleeding. 🩸
You are also more susceptible to infections at that time so be gentle and kind to yourself.
Aren’t you amazed by your body’s abilities? Pat yourself on the back and remember how incredible your body is!

This is just wild! It’s amazing what our bodies can do!
Love this !
Tell me why I read this as urine growth 😂
My bladder was the size of a lentil. Now it’s a 68 year old bladder that had 3 pregnancies squashing it. My bladder has a mind of it’s own.
I’m just about 11 weeks pp and need this reminder often. I wasn’t washboard abs and tiny, but post c-section swollen tummy pooch has been humbling as I get back to running and feeling good about myself. Also, the cute smiley baby puts a lot in perspective ❤️
And that’s if you just have one baby. I hate to think how much bigger it gets with multiples.
