That’s annoying! Especially because the earlier weeks are often the worst so there’s no correlation between being “not that pregnant” in terms of weeks and being more capable of doing stuff like that. Sorry you had to experience this.

I’m in my third trimester and would rather feel like this every day for the rest of my life than go back to how I felt at 14 weeks.

There is not a sliding scale of pregnantness… you are or you aren’t. You are and your mum was an ass for what she said. You take as much time whenever you need to, to take care of yourself. At least in your new appt you won’t have to deal with stairs!

She’s so full of crap. It’s binary, you’re pregnant or you’re not. And your body is working extra hard.

    Ugh

    Send her [this article](https://www.health.harvard.edu/decision_guide/shortness-of-breath-in-pregnancy).

Surging levels of progesterone are literally making you need to breathe more. Also, first tri symptoms are no joke! Is she one of those people who had a relatively easy time with pregnancy? Or maybe she’s just forgotten? Either way, that was wicked insensitive of her to say.

I’m 40 weeks and miserable and I would take this over early pregnancy ANY DAY.

I moved last weekend from a 3rd floor apartment into a basement apartment. I’m 14 weeks pregnant with my first and the move was rough for me. Going up and down those stairs a million times made me winded, exhausted, and a little out of it. My parents were there helping, which I am grateful for. I mentioned that I wasn’t feeling too great and I needed a break and my mom said “Oh come on, you’re not even that pregnant.” I didn’t even know what to say so I just ignored her and took a break anyway. I knew I’d get weird and hurtful comments from people – but I was not expecting it from my own mum.
