People are probably just saying that because not everyone gets the blood test done so they don’t find out the gender until their anatomy scan at 18-20 weeks. If you’re already sharing the news about the pregnancy I don’t see anything strange about also sharing the news about the baby’s gender! Do whatever makes you happy!
I’m also team blood test and getting mine done very soon (I’m 8 weeks now, will get blood done in 3-4 weeks) which means I’ll find out our baby’s gender before my friend who is 12 weeks pregnant now but waiting until anatomy scan to find out. Sort of whacky how it works out but there’s nothing weird about it
