I’m sorry you’re in this position. It’s awful the way housing prices are soaring across North America.
We bought a house the year my Mom died. We almost out it off because I was an absolute mess emotionally but we wanted to settle in an area before our oldest started school. Now we look back and are thankful that we went ahead with it because prices have more than doubled. To get anything in the same price range we’d have to look at least 30mins outside the city at houses built in the 1950s with all manner of issues. Every time we’re frustrated by the terrible layout of this house we remind ourselves that we can’t afford to move!
Hell, the house I grew up in was less than $200 000 in the late 80s…it’s now a million dollar house.
