My daughter had a PDA that didn’t close. We had it closed when she was 3 years old. She also had an ASD but they found it was too small to repair. The cath was pretty quick! They gave her versed to help keep her calm when she was carried into the operating room but she just passed out. The most difficult part was keeping her flat for 4 hours after the surgery to ensure the part that fixed the hole stayed put. She also had a g-tube surgery when she was 3 months old and was put under for a CT scan before the heart procedure. Be aware that each kiddo responds to anesthesia differently when they come out of it. She was groggy for awhile. A friend’s kiddo screams as she is waking up. Just be aware it is a thing to watch for.
