I had a scar that was pretty uncomfortable (no idea what degree tear, but quite a few stitches, well done and healed fast, but very uncomfortable). Pelvic floor PT helped a ton. Mine showed me how to massage myself and as I went along I was able to increase pressure. That way there was no intense pain since I was in control. Then I did (do) whole body stretches and all kinds of exercises to help restore my core. Yes, pelvic floor pt/ recovery takes time, but it’s so worth it!
