Feeling Weepy After Giving Birth?

Feeling Weepy After Giving Birth? - Postpartum - 2022

Is it any wonder you’re a *little* weepy after giving birth? ⠀

After you deliver the placenta, your hormones shift drastically. ⠀

In the first 1-2 days after delivery, you may experience an exhilarating high. ⠀

Within 24-48 hours, as the hormones shift and endorphins wear off, you might begin to experience fluctuations in moods and emotions, AKA “baby blues”. This weepy time won’t last forever. ⠀

For most, these cascading emotions normalize around two weeks postpartum. ⠀

What was your immediate post-birth experience like? ⠀

  1. After my last baby I was super happy the 2 days after birth. Then it changed for the worst. I was crying and felt guilty when I looked at my 2 older kids and felt bad like I had abandoned them. Then I had visitors that stood for the weekend and that didn’t go well at all. I felt my house wasn’t my house. I didn’t get to bond with my baby like I should have because the visitors wanted to hold him all the time. These visitors were my husbands family. My husband and I had just moved into our new place 1 month prior to birth. So I was going threw a lot of changes. To make things worse, my son was tongue tied so we struggled to breastfeed. It was a nightmare that I wish I could go back and change.

  2. I’ve had two babies and did placenta encapsulation for both, best decision ever. I didn’t have the crazy highs to crazy lows that I’ve seen others experience. I highly recommend it. 💊💊
