Dolphins love interactin with pregnant women because they communicate by ultrasound. Not only can they hear the mother’s heartbeat , but they can also feel the baby’s heartbeat. They find this fascinating.

Ultrasound is a kind of echolocation like dolphins use but I don’t think dolphins “click” in the ultrasonic range?
Fun fact humans can also learn to “see” using echolocation.
So. Its cool. But. Is anyone else feeling like they’d be uncomfortable with this? I was pretty protective of my pregnant belly and was never interested in any animal getting all that close. Especially one that kills other marine organisms by headbutting them! It only takes one little accident. But maybe I was overprotective of my bump.
I swam with dolphins 2 days before I found out I was pregnant. It was too soon for a heart beat unfortunately.
