Hey Janet, huge congrats on reaching the halfway mark! That’s such a big milestone (and yes, it totally deserves a celebratory mocktail 🍹).

I’m not a first-time mum myself, but I do vividly remember that weird in-between stage where you feel pregnant, but still look more like you’ve had an aggressive encounter with a burrito than grown an actual human.

For me, the bump definitely took its time with my first. It wasn’t until around 24 to 26 weeks that it started looking more baby than buffet. It crept up slowly and then, seemingly overnight, I couldn’t see my feet.

Everyone carries so differently, and especially for first-time mums, things often take a little longer to show. Muscle tone, body type, even the way your baby’s lying; it all plays a part.

You’re absolutely not overthinking it. And the fact you’re wondering? Completely normal. I promise your bump will show up loud and proud soon enough (and then you’ll be knocking into things and wondering how you ever slept on your stomach).

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. It’s questions like these that help kick things off and make this space feel like a real community. As more mums join us, I hope we’ll see lots of different stories and perspectives in here too.

Thank you Claire. I have friends who even suggested I should enjoy the time ‘just looking a little bloated” whole I can lol. 🫣 Thanks for the insight and I look forward to seeing a few more virtual faces across the community.

    Take care
