Taking A Pregnancy Test

By Trevor Kassulke, March 5, 2010

If you’re finding yourself walking into your local drug store and walking down the aisle of feminine products, trying to figure out what pregnancy test is the most accurate, you’re not alone. So many different companies have now developed tests that they claim are more effective and provide faster results. The prices range greatly, so you’re more inclined to spend more thinking that a more expensive brand will definitely be better. However, they’re all based on the same factors and chemicals. They all require you to urinate on a stick. You’d think that they’d find a better way to give a woman good news other than making her drink several glasses of water just to have the urge to use the bathroom. Perhaps someday, the drugstores will have a different type of pregnancy test. Until then, you can walk up and down the aisle and rest assured that the many manufacturers who make these tests all use the same technology. You can make the decision as to how much you want to spend on purchasing a test. Some women will spend massive amounts of money purchasing a variety of these tests, hoping that different brands will provide different answers. The facts will still remain the same – if you’re pregnant, that’s not going to change depending on a simple brand.

How Early Did You Feel Pregnancy Symptoms?

By New Moms Forum, February 3, 2010

My period is supposed to come in 5 days, and I am feeling very pregnant. I get nauseous at noon every day and it lasts for about 6 hours or so. I also have to pee more often. I am wondering if the cheep-o pregnancy tests from the dollar store would work this early. And I am also wondering how early did you all start feeling pregnancy symptoms. This would be my second child and I REALLY hope I am pregnant. My daughter needs a play mate and I just can’t wait to have another one. Thanks!

Is It Possible To Have Pregnancy Symptoms Without Actually Being Pregnant?

By New Moms Forum, January 28, 2010

(This is wannahaveababy’s sister): I have been pregnant before and now two years later all of a sudden I am having pregnancy symptoms. I am gaining weight, feeling nauseated and having headaches but all the pregnancy tests come back negative. My periods have never really been irregular until about two months ago. January it came on early and it spotted again towards the end of the month and in February it came on super late but only spotted a little for a day. This month it has yet to come on at all. Is this normal?

When Do I Start Geeting Pregnancy Symptoms?

By New Moms Forum, January 28, 2010

I doubt i am pregnant because i had a very light period in September, i had two pregnancy tests which turned out negative then i went for an ultrasound two days ago, also nothing was in the Uterus, i still doubt it though because i am having really sore breasts, the weird thing is no other symptoms are present… none… not even being tired.

How Common Is It To Not Have A Period During Breastfeeding?

By New Moms Forum, January 24, 2010

I have a 3 month old baby. When she was about 1 month and 2 week I had my first regular period since birth. However, the next month I didn’t get it. I’ve been breastfeeding the whole time, and my husband and I have tried to be very careful, although there was one slip up right around the time that i could have ovulated following my period, but I’ve had 2 pregnancy tests around the time I should have started and both were negative. Aside from the pregnancy and births of my 4 children i’ve had a fairly regular cycle, so, how common is it to completely miss you period due to breastfeeding? I’m currently on progesterone only pills (for the last three weeks) for birth control, but the information that came with it seemed to indicate that they might make you bleed more, rather than less.
