During this stage, your baby still relies on you for nutrition especially when you are breastfeeding. Cutting your food nutritious food intake is like cutting your home&#8217;s water supply.</p>
<p>Instead of significantly reducing what you are eating, you can substitute what you have been eating to a healthier one. Eat red meat once or twice a week and eat seafoods, fruits, vegetables and white meat the rest of the week. Replace heavy condiments with healthier ones like hummus or yogurt or cranberry gravy for your steak.</p>

<p>If you are planning on trying to get pregnant, it is best if you prepare yourself 3 to 4 months in advance. Make sure you take a good multi-vitamin with at least 400mcg of folic acid. Eat healthy, all the things you already know you should eat, lots of fruits, vegetables and low-fat proteins. Limit your caffeine and alcohol. A cup of coffee a day is ok but not a pot a day. A glass of wine now and then won&#8217;t hurt but regular moderate drinking can lead to ovulatory problems. Stop smoking, smoking can have a detrimental affect on conceiving.</p>

<p>Determine your ovulation</p>
<p>Most people think everyone ovulates and gets pregnant on day 14 of the cycle. This is true only for those who have very regular 28-day cycles. Typically we ovulate at the half way point of our cycle so for a 30 day cycle that is day 15, day 12 for a 24 day cycle, etc. Make sure you&#8217;re having sex every other day for at least a week beforehand and several days past when you ovulate, this should assure you have sex a couple of times at the peak of your fertility.</p>
<p>Not Too Little, Not Too Much</p>
<p>More sex isn&#8217;t necessarily better when it comes to conceiving and &#8216;saving it up&#8217; isn&#8217;t a good idea either. Having sex every other day while you&#8217;re trying to get pregnant is optimal. This will help to keep the man&#8217;s sperm count up and keep the sperm fresh. And as mentioned above it will also make sure that you&#8217;ll be having sex at least once or twice during your most fertile days.</p>
<p>Watch What Kind of Lubricant You Use</p>
<p>Lubricants can make sex more comfortable and feel better but most commercial lubricants are toxic to sperm. So when trying to get pregnant, use a &#8220;sperm friendly&#8221; lubricant or use something natural like egg whites or canola oil. Saliva isn&#8217;t good because the digestive enzymes can damage the sperm.</p>
<p>Position Yourself</p>
<p>To give the sperm the best chance, make sure you are in a male dominant position at the time of your partner&#8217;s ejaculation. Positions where you are sitting or standing are not recommended. Missionary or rear-entry positions will get the sperm as close to the cervix as possible.</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t Jump Right Up After Sex</p>
<p>After sex, don&#8217;t run to the bathroom to clean up right away. Lounge around in bed or better yet snuggle for awhile. No need to stand on your head or keep your legs up in the air but lying in bed for 15-20 minutes will keep gravity from working against you.</p>
<p>Remember To Have Fun</p>
<p>Remember that sex has more of a purpose than to just get pregnant. It feels good, it&#8217;s fun and the intimacy is an essential part of healthy relationship. If pregnancy doesn&#8217;t happen within a few months, be careful and don&#8217;t let sex become a chore. Keeping the fun, pleasure and romance alive can also help keep the stress of trying to conceive at bay.</p>

<p>Nowadays, it is more and more common for women to try to have a baby (for the first time) when they are in their 30&#8242;s, 40&#8242;s or even 50&#8242;s. However it is not absolutely necessary to seek medical help right away to make this happen. There are several things you can do to enhance your chances of getting pregnant. Most of all you need to observe and chance the things in your lifestyle that might impede your efforts of conceiving a baby.</p>
<p>Firstly, remove all the habits that affect your fertility the negative way. For example, smoking is proven to reduce the chances of getting pregnant &#8211; bear in mind that both, the male and the female reproductive systems are affected by smoking. More so, if you happen to get pregnant the toxins in cigarettes can have a dreadful impact on the fetal growth. Recreational drugs and alcohol are also detrimental to your chances of getting pregnant. Caffeine is suggested to avoid as much as possible as well.</p>
<p>Next, choose foods that have high vitamin C and folic acid content. Such are fruits, vegetables and beans. Dietary supplements can also be of a great help here. These will also give you heaps of antioxidants which make you feel happier and younger and that, in turn, in itself greatly increases your chances of getting pregnant. Another good fertility regulator and antioxidant is primrose oil.</p>
<p>As having calcium and iron in your daily diet is also very important, you should drink at least a glass of whole milk a day or have some natural yogurt as an alternative.</p>
<p>You should keep in mind that exercising regularly should be one of your priorities as well. Start now if you are not doing that already. Exercising increases your energy level, removes any excess weight and that is again proven to be a fertility booster. Mood regulators, endorphins, that your body produces during and after exercising, will keep you in a relaxed state and help you be positive and happy.</p>
<p>Observe your stress level. Try not to take your work issues home. You are in the best possible place to get pregnant when your mind and body are in a good shape. Follow the tips given above and you will dramatically improve your chances to give birth to a baby in the future.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<!--CusAds2--><p class="first-child "><span title="W" class="cap"><span>W</span></span>ith a newborn in the house, sometimes it can feel like a hurculean effort to even get dressed before noon, much less, shower, go grocery shopping, cook dinner and fix your hair.&nbsp; If you&#8217;re a working Mom &#8211; the stress increases along with the workload.&nbsp; Goodbye sleep, hello anxiety!</p>
<p><span id="more-3197"></span></p>
<p>Many new Moms worry about figuring out how to look and feel their best as they adjust to the &#8216;new normal&#8217; that parenthood brings.&nbsp; I remember being shocked to realize, about 6 months after my son was born, that I wouldn&#8217;t be getting a &#8220;break&#8221; or &#8220;vacation&#8221; any time soon.&nbsp; There was no fairy godmother coming to help me return to those luxurious mornings of sleeping in, hours on the computer reading emails and chatting with friends, or the ability to sit down and read a whole book on my own.</p>
<p>So, I decided to make a few adjustments in my life I&#8217;d like to &#8211; I hope you&#8217;ll find them helpful as well as you cope with life with a new baby, and wanting to feel GREAT in your body again&#8230;</p>
<p>To motivate you I was about 150 lbs before I got pregnant (I am 5&#8242; 10&#8243;).&nbsp; I gained about 40 lbs with the pregnancy.&nbsp; I eventually went down to 128 lbs using the tips mentioned below.</p>
<p><strong>How To Regain Your Sanity and Health After Having A Baby</strong></p>
<p><strong>1) Eating Well </strong>- I realized that my son was benefitting (or not) from everything I ate since I was breastfeeding (similar to when I was pregnant).&nbsp; I decided to really make an effort to eat for nutrition rather than weight loss.&nbsp; I didn&#8217;t work on excluding any foods from my diet.&nbsp; I just worked on INCLUDING good foods &#8211; especially fruits, vegetables, and healthy fats (fax seed meal, walnuts, etc.) rather than excluding anything.</p>
<p><strong>2) Exercise</strong> &#8211; I started getting outdoors every day.&nbsp; I didn&#8217;t put any pressure on myself to &#8220;workout.&#8221;&nbsp; My goal was to spend 30 minutes a day walking every day.&nbsp; Accomplishing something like this gives you that &#8220;I got something done&#8221; feeling that I often lacked staying at home with the baby.&nbsp; To start off with, I carried my son in a sling, but when he got old enough to sit up, I switched over to a BOB jogging stroller.&nbsp; The BOB stroller is a top of the line jogging stroller, it works great if you&#8217;re running, but I usually walked.&nbsp; It has a 3-wheel design so it can lock in place if you&#8217;re jogging, and unlock and pivot very easily.&nbsp; This is a great indoor-outdoor stroller that I use all the time for shopping, and hiking, not just for jogging/walking.</p>
<p><strong>3) Sleep </strong>- The untold secret is that once your baby starts sleeping through the night at 2-3 months, you&#8217;re not good-to-go.&nbsp; My son continued to have months where he would get up in the night almost every night well after he was 12-months old.&nbsp; (We used attachment parenting &#8211; not the cry it out method &#8211; but he did sleep in a different room from us.&nbsp; I found that having him sleep in the same room was VERY distracting to me when he would make noises and be fussy.&nbsp; Even if he was asleep, I would wake up with my heart racing when I heard these noises.&nbsp; I strongly recommend finding a good night time sleep solution that works for you and DON&#8217;T BE AFRAID OR EMBARRASSED TO TAKE NAPS.&nbsp; When you are well-rested, you are happier, and that makes you a better wife and mother.</p>
<p><strong>4) Disposable Diapers</strong> &#8211; This may sound crazy, but I had the &#8220;fun&#8221; of using cloth diapers when I was at a retreat center and I was amazed at how they would get wet and stay wet every time my son peed!&nbsp; We&#8217;d been using disposables at home and they worked so much better for us because when your baby pees, the moisture is absorbed and he can sleep through the night again without noticing it.&nbsp; This is good for everyone!</p>
<p><strong>5) Appreciation </strong>- It can be easy to get cranky as you bemoan loneliness, boredom, and lack of conversation as you hang out with your little one.&nbsp; We&#8217;ve all been there and it&#8217;s okay to admit it.&nbsp; That being said&#8230; use some effort to focus on the positive.&nbsp; You have a happy, healthy baby who will relish his time with his mother and even though he can&#8217;t talk yet, your baby is absorbing the love in his environment that you are providing.&nbsp; My sister &#8211; the psychology major &#8211; has told me all about the emotional imprinting that happens to very young children.&nbsp; Rejoice in the fact that you are there to take care of him and love him every day!&nbsp;</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<!--CusAds2--><p class="first-child "><span title="I" class="cap"><span>I</span></span> have been&nbsp;trying&nbsp;really hard to get that baby weight off after I had gained almost 60 pounds during my pregnancy.&nbsp;I am a singer/songwriter, so it is imperative in my industry to look great.&nbsp;&nbsp;If you just had a baby and you want to get that baby weight off, here are some things that you can safely do in order to lose the weight at a moderate pace without over doing it.&nbsp; These are definitely things that have worked for me.&nbsp;I have lost more than half the weight so far.&nbsp; You can do it too.</p>

<p><strong>Walk</strong>- take your baby out for a stroll and walk and walk and walk.&nbsp;As a new mom myself,&nbsp;I was finding that I was&nbsp;totally wiped out&nbsp;from being up all&nbsp;through the wee morning hours of the night with&nbsp;the baby, that&nbsp;I was a literal couch potato&nbsp;all day long.&nbsp; I had no energy to get myself moving fast enough to start jogging and on&nbsp;my weight lifting routine that&nbsp;I had been on prior to my pregnancy.&nbsp; During the seasons that are more weather friendly, fall, spring and summer&nbsp;months, walking is one of the best&nbsp;ways to kick start your&nbsp;metabolism.&nbsp; It&#8217;s also a low impact exercise.</p>
<p><strong>Gobble Down Nutritious Fruits, Vegetables, and Whole Grain Breads and Pastas and&nbsp; don&#8217;t forget your lean proteins&#8211;&nbsp;chicken and fish.</strong>&nbsp; Sometimes&nbsp;nursing moms feel hungry even after&nbsp;chowing down on&nbsp;a large meal.&nbsp;&nbsp;I know&nbsp;I did.&nbsp; That is because breastfeeding often uses up about&nbsp;500 calories that you take in&nbsp;a day or even&nbsp;more.&nbsp; So, one of the most insightful things for you to do during this time is to eat healthy yet hearty meals.&nbsp;&nbsp;Consume lots of&nbsp;fruits and vegetables.&nbsp; Prepare great salads with your favorite light salad dressings.&nbsp; If you eat pastas and bread, go ahead and eat them up, but do it in moderation AND make sure they are whole grain pastas providing nutrients and fiber for healthy digestions. &nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Sleep when the baby sleeps.</strong>&nbsp; Everyone says this and it seems to be impossible at times.&nbsp; I know&nbsp;I because it seemed the only time during the day I could actually get things done. Yet, getting in all the sleep that you&nbsp;can will be beneficial towards your healthy weight loss.&nbsp; It allows you to replenish that energy you will need to keep exercising to burn the calories you take in so that weight will start to just drop off, and you can also keep up with the demands of motherhood throughout each day.</p>
<p><strong>Drink a gallon of water.</strong>&nbsp; Drinking a lot of water everyday &nbsp;actually helps you get rid of water weight.&nbsp; Water weight is due to&nbsp;your body&#8217;s survival mechanism, holding on to the fluids because you are replenishing it on a daily basis with enough of it. Do you have big 20 oz plastic cups at home?&nbsp; Drink about 5 of them throughout the day and you will have drunk a gallon of water.&nbsp; The water helps to flush your body of toxins.&nbsp;Other benefits are include&nbsp;clear skin. Once you have built your stamina up and of course the baby is sleeping more,&nbsp;I suggest stepping up your workout doing cardio 2-3 times a week and then weight training at least 2-3 times a week as well.&nbsp; Also start to incorporate some core exercises to get the belly flattened again and build up those back muscles so that you can maintain a healthy back as you constantly lift the baby.&nbsp;Stick with the same healthy eating suggestions above.</p>

<p>It&#8217;s always good to have another reason to keep away from these fertility damaging demons whether you are struggling with some of these anti-fertility cravings or not! Here they are.</p>
<p><strong>1. Trans Fats</strong></p>
<p>It has been discovered that if you consume only 4 grams of trans fats a day, which is about the amount in one donut or a small order of your favorite fast food fries, you double your risk of ovulatory infertility. Only an additional 2% increase of trans fat consumption will cause you an additional 73% greater chance of infertility due to ovulation problems. This is created by inflammation that is caused by increased insulin resistance. WHAT? Let&#8217;s see, french fries or a baby?</p>
<p>On a brighter note, while cutting trans fats from your diet increases your chances of getting pregnant, replacing them with the healthier mono- and poly- unsaturated fats, like what&#8217;s in avocados, nuts and seeds, will actually increase your reproductive chances.</p>
<p><strong>2. Red Meat</strong></p>
<p>In recent studies, those who ate the most red meat were 39% more likely to have ovulation problems compared to those who ate the least. Comparatively, those who ate the most plant protein were significantly less likely to have ovulatory infertility than those who ate the least. Even one serving of red meat a day was costly for those trying to get pregnant. However, a good supply of protein from fruits, vegetables, nuts and beans proved to supply some protection from ovulatory infertility. Yes, you&#8217;re going to have to pass on the steak dinners for now. Sorry, but you asked for getting pregnant tips!</p>
<p><strong>3. Low Fat Dairy</strong></p>
<p>It was also determined in recent studies that those who ate the most low or non-fat dairy products had more difficulty getting pregnant. However, it also appeared that the more full-fat dairy eaten, the fewer problems one had getting pregnant. According to the researchers, this is because of the hormones in milk. When the fat is removed from milk, it is left with a majority of water-soluble hormones which can interrupt your reproductive system. So, how about some ice cream before bed tonight? Bear in mind though, full-fat dairy products should be consumed in moderation.</p>
<p><strong>4. Soft Drinks</strong></p>
<p>I bet you didn&#8217;t think it was going to get this bad. According to additional findings in these studies, the consumption of 2 or more soft drinks a day equated to a 50% greater chance of ovulatory infertility. This is because of blood sugar spikes. Keep in mind, the average soft drink contains 9 to 11 tablespoons of sugar. That&#8217;s TABLEspoons. Ouch! Ovulatory infertility has also been attributed to being overweight due to consuming so many empty calories as those in soft drinks. However, staying hydrated is very important to your reproductive health, not to mention your overall health. Of course, the best source for hydration is good old water.</p>
