I wouldn’t say i’m horribly depressed.. but today is just one of those days.. I am so frustrated.. I know you are supposed to gain weight during pregnancy, and I knew that before I got pregnant.. but I just wasn’t expecting this. So many women, especially on this site, say they’ve only gained like nine or ten pounds total.. I just dont understand how this happens!! I have been skinny my whole life.. Before I got pregnant I was 5’9″, 131 pounds, and now i’m 153 pounds at 25 weeks. I’ve gained 22 pounds already and still have 15 of the worst weight gaining weeks to go. I constantly watch what i eat, I eat really well and exercise. In fact, i’ve totally changed my life with how well i eat now. Somedays I just can’t stand to look in the mirror though, and I dread whats coming… Is anyone else feeling this way??

LOL…I just posted a question about the same thing. Im 25 weeks and have gained 27 pounds. I really hope its not true that you gain all your weight at the end because I’ll definitely hit 50 lbs.
Hey, it’s all worth it! I don’t know how you will be but me, my sisters, and my 2 best friends all lost weight really fast after the baby and in fact we all were skinnier after the baby then ever before….I definately feel your pain though…With my second baby I gained 50 lbs!!!
I think its normal to feel this way.
I am 28 weeks today, and until this last appointment (yesterday) I had gained 5 pounds total, and lost one.
So 4 pounds.
I went in yesterday and I gained 9 pounds in one month!!
OMG visit is what my doctor said I had.
And I know its because I am not as active as I was and my eating habits slipped.
So I am going back on the healthy food plan I was on.
I am a little freaked out by the weight gain, b/c I am already overweight, and wanted to try to keep it between 20-25 pds.
So I am a little scared of too much weight.
look I know you feel miserable right now and that’s part of the whole pregnancy thing. But gaining weight during pregnancy is a very good thing. It means that your baby is getting what it needs to grow and become strong. And for those people who are only gaining 9-10 pounds is very unhealthy and remember each pregnancy is different. So try not to compare yourself to others. Just so long as your not losing weight its a good thing to be gaining weight. I know I’m not liking the way I look either as I get farther along, but I know there is a special bundle of joy growing in there and it needs to be fed and the more weight you gain the better protected the baby is. a lot of it is fluid, the placenta, and things that help the baby develop. So try to give yourself a little break your pregnant your supposed to gain weight. take care and congrats!
I know how you’re feeling. I feel like that some days- I’ve gained 10 lbs since I was 7 wks (Not sure how much I gained before that) so I would guestimate that i’ve gained about 10-15 lbs total and I’m only 21 wks along. Just keep in mind that you’ll lose about 15 lbs of that during delivery! If you’re going to breast feed that will also help you get the weight off quicker.
Also, I wouldn’t worry about too much more weight gain, I have several friends who said that from about 6 months on they didn’t gain that much, a few even lost some weight b/c they were just feeling so…blah.
Anyway, you’re not alone! I can’t wait to start an intense workout program after I have the baby- my goal is to be hotter as a mom than I was before I got pregnant!
dont worry you will go back to your original size, i was worried to!!!! i gained 30 pounds, i was 97 pounds before, now im 100 and my son was 7pounds, 7 oz… look this is me…
